yeah - it would've been those high bias chrome cassette tapes that smelled really strong and weird - I would've bought one and got one of their patches for my jean jacket
I would have bought my cassette at the flea market. it would be bootleg but still have the color art. I would then drive around the back roads with the music up pretty loud high on the weeds and drinking mountain dew smoking cigs. that's what we did back then. you'd drive down some gravel forest service road at midnight and your buds would be there in their rides doing the same thing and you would stay up most of the night having fun.
